EXCURSION TO AIRBUS: HISTORY

Airbus SAS, also known as Airbus is a pan-European aeronautics and aerospace company. It was created in 2001 in Toulouse, a SAS (Society for Action Edition, the French Société par Actions Simplifiée). The first model produced the consortium, which appeared in 1972, was the A300, a aircraft for medium-range routes, double-aisle, innovative in many aspects, such as streamlining the baggage compartment and cargo through containers. The plane was not an immediate success in a market dominated by U.S. manufacturers, only reached significant sales in Europe.
The three assembly lines of Airbus are in Toulouse, France, (2 assembly lines) and Hamburg, Germany (1 line). A fourth line, the Airbus A400M is being built in Seville, Spain. Airbus also has several plants in different European city reflecting its foundation as a consortium of diferents companies.
